      About Us

We are Eddie and Rose, we live in a small village called Ludchurch on the outskirts of the old market town of  Narberth, West Wales.

As we are both retired, we thought that we needed a hobby that we would enjoy, that would get us to meet new people. So we decided that as we both loved animals and especially cats we would like to start showing pedigree cats, and having seen pictures and read about Maine Coons a long time ago we decided they would be the ones for us. Little did we know that within a few months we would be hooked, we started out with three Maine Coon girls, and as they say the rest is history. Within a year we had decided definitely to become breeders of these wonderful furry friends and we have loved every minute of it. Maine Coons  now rule our lives and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Our cattery name came about because my name is Rose(mary), I love roses and I use rose names for all our kittens  and of course they are coons, so we have Rozeecoonz.!

All our kittens are born in the house, usually in the lounge where we can keep an eye on them and mum, when they are weaned and vaccinated they then go into the outside runs, if they haven't gone to new homes, where they can stay inside or go out into a secure run to play in the fresh air, see the other cats and are able to watch everything that is going on. Maine Coon kittens are very very nosy.

We allow our neutered  adult Maine Coons to go out freely during the day and as we live surrounded by fields they vanish for hours on end  occasionally returning to show us something they may have caught in the field, we have had mice, moles, grass snakes lizards, rabbits, unfortunately they don't seem to be able to catch the pheasants I keep hearing in the field next door. They all come back for their evening meal and to be shut in safely for the night.

If I am gardening I often have an audience of interested cats and usually the biggest one will jump up onto my shoulders to get a really close look, he has done that since he was a kitten and I don't think he realises how much he has grown.

We have been involved with the  Aristocats Club, from the beginning, which is a founder member of Felis Britannica, the UK representative of FIFe  and we organised our own shows under FIFe regulations two or three times a year, this of course got us even more involved with cats, which was great! However we are  finding it is very tiring to do all the driving to the shows and so we have cut down the number we go to and also the number of cats we take.

We would like to thank Bob Fox for all his fantastic photographs that have been used on this site and also our 'babies' new parents who have sent us pictures of the kids growing up. We would also like to mention Sandra, Dawn, and Gill who were instrumental in us getting started and were so helpful in the early days. Thank you !
